About Me

*Bathsheba has been adopted!*

Greetings, everyone. My name is Bathsheba (quite a royal name, don’t you think?), but my foster family has started calling me Daisy. I came to CBHR as one of a dozen bassets whose owner could no longer care for us.

I am a beautiful basset and fully potty trained. I was an outdoor dog when I came to CBHR, but I am getting used to the good life indoors. I am very energetic, and Foster Mom thinks I might be even younger than my estimated age, which is about 7, according to the vet.

I am working on socialization and currently prefer women because I came to CBHR fearful of men, but I am starting to be more comfortable around my gentle foster family, which includes men and my foster mom. They are helping me work on my socialization needs and say that I am making very good progress.

Even though I love to play, I also will settle down and am learning to understand what the people are asking me to do. Foster Mom thinks I need a little more time learning to be around people before I am ready to adopt, but she’s also sure I will be a good dog for the right family.

They will need patience and will need to have the time to work with me to help me with my socialization skills and to unlearn some puppy-like habits (like chewing – I am learning to go to the toy basket when I need to find something to chomp on). Keep checking back on my progress – I’m a smart girl!

If you are interested in adopting me or another basset – especially one of our older houndies who have so much love left to give – contact Carolina Basset Hound Rescue and tell them Bathsheba (Daisy) gave you the tip!
