Hello, Carolinas! I’m Willa, a purebred basset girl about 2 1/2 years old. I’m new to CBHR. I was returned to my breeder because my forever human was going through some tough times, so this great rescue organization took me right in.
I’m a sweet, happy and energetic girl young who will cling to you like Velcro. I adore attention and get along great with the other dogs in my foster home. I have a tendency to bark extensively when I’m lonely or you’re not paying attention to me, so I will need to work on using my indoor manners.
I like to play with other dogs but can be “mouthy,” as my foster mom says. However, I haven’t shown any signs of aggression or negative responses.
I would love a home where I can get lots of attention and am not left alone for long periods. Another dog to play with would be awesome. I’m housetrained and walk like a pro with a leash and harness.
My biggest issue right now is my skin. It’s so red and irritated, and I may need to be on meds to keep it under control. CBHR has hooked me up with a vet to treat my skin problem, and I have an adopter waiting. But look around because there are lots of other hounds who are still waiting for their forever homes!
