About Me

*Ethel and Lucy have been adopted!*

Hi! I’m Ethel, half of a bonded pair of lady basset hounds. My gal pal Lucy is my other half – I am very bonded to her and am always looking out for her.

We came to CBHR when our owner passed away. Though most of my previous life was lived outdoors, I enjoy the good life indoors, which for me mostly consists of snoozing or snuggling.

Like my pal Lucy, I am a sweetheart. I love to be loved. Being pet and snuggling with my humans are my favorite things. I like to know what’s going on in the house so I like to bop around the house with my humans. A house where there is some consistency with someone being home would be best for me as I love to know that my human friends are around (stay at home parent, work from home, retired, etc.).

I am housetbroken but will need some obedience training to perfect my house manners.

Though I love the amenities of an indoor life, I still love being outside, so a yard with a fence is a must so I can burn my energy sniffing everything.

Lucy and I love our human friends (adults and kids!) and when new friends come to the house we sniff and look for some pets, and then go back to doing our own thing.

We get along well with other dogs, but we must be in a household without cats. We think we are supposed to hunt them, so it’s not a good match for us.

We have what it takes to be great additions to your life! A home that can give us consistency and grace as we get settled, as well as some training would be the best fit for us.
