About Me
Fly high, sweet Penny!
Pretty as a Penny! That’s me, don’t you think? That hasn’t changed since I came to the CBHR about 9 months ago, but life has thrown me a few curves.
I came to the CBHR as a stray and had several typical things that needed to be addressed. During the course of my first few weeks they found I had some abnormal growths on my breast. After some pretty extensive medical work-up it turns out the growths are cancerous and have spread. According to the statistics that means my long-term life expectancy is not all that good even with a lot of aggressive treatment. Based on all that, the recommendation is that I don’t undergo surgery or other aggressive treatments.
As sad as that sounds, I am doing ok for now. I have recovered from all the other things and the cancer is not causing me any problems. According to the cancer vet there is no real way to know how long things will stay this way. For now, I am in a really good foster home with people who are committed to take care of me regardless of what happens down the road. That is both heart-breaking and heart-warming at the same time. In return I will be giving them my love and being ever-grateful that I am in the place I need to be.
