This year’s Waddle includes the debut of CBHR’s Casino Night event, as well as the work of Wilmington artist Cheryl Snyder for our t-shirt design. Examples of Cheryl’s work can be found on her website and more information about her is below. CBHR would like to thank Cheryl for donating her time and wonderful talent to help our sweet hounds!
Karol and Marion Gillison won this year’s t-shirt art auction, so Cheryl has incorporated their dogs Brogan (ATB), Columbo, and Gina into the artwork. The design also includes elements of the Las Vegas-style games to be held at Saturday’s Casino Night event.
This year’s Waddle t-shirts are available in light blue and tan. Regular short-sleeved t-shirts (unisex design and 100% cotton) are available in either color. Long-sleeved t-shirts and ladies cut short-sleeved t-shirts are only available in light blue. For sizing information, click here.
The Artist in Her Own Words
I have a degee in Animal Science from NCSU and worked in pharmaceutical research for several years. During this time I worked with research dogs and could not bear to have a dog of my own. I left that job, adopted a dog, and bought a camera. Whitey was the model for most of my early photographs. A local Asheville artist used my photographs for inspiration. After a move to Raleigh, I adopted 2 whippets,Snyder and Comet who thought they were superstars… Whitey passed on at 15 and I started manipulating and coloring old photos of her. This sparked my interest in computer/digital art. During and unemployment period I successfully took several courses in black&white photography and computer art. Using the willing whippets as models, Winning first place (twice) in the AKC Gazette and being published in “Dogs,The first 125 years of the AKC” established my enthusiasm. I now live with 2 whippets “Kip” and “Margo”. I reside in Wilmington, NC where along with my 2 whippets we take care of my dear Mother, suffering with dementia. We are a Great team!
