About Me

Are you looking for a young pup who loves to snuggle and play fetch?  I’m your boy!  Hi, my name is Walter, and I am not quite a year old.  My first birthday is in November.  Let me tell you a little about myself.

I wasn’t socialized when I was a puppy, so CBHR found a trainer to help me become less fearful and more relaxed.  My foster family says I have made tremendous progress and I am not the same dog I was.  A lot of my “issues” have been worked out. I’ve really settled into my foster home, and I’m one snuggly and playful houndie.

Here’s what I am looking for in a forever home:

I would love a quieter home with someone who will let me watch TV on their lap, help me burn some energy by playing fetch and continue to teach me not to be so timid “in the real world.”  I am housetrained and sleep in my kennel (the door is open) at night.

I like other dogs, but if they growl and bark at me, I’ll talk back.  If I am misbehaving, as young dogs sometimes do, I am easily redirected with my favorite bone or toy.  I also have a special word and when you say it, I come running because I know I’m getting a treat!

I am skittish around strangers, but warm up pretty quickly. Loud noises like the vacuum and the lawnmower aren’t my favorite, but they don’t scare me like they used to.

My foster family says I would do better with older children because I like snacks, even if it is your snack.  I walk well on a leash but really don’t like to go too far from my house.

If you think you would like a boy like me, let’s meet!  My foster mom or dad will tell you all about me and how I really am the goodest boy. Contact CBHR to learn more about me, Walter!
