About Me
Hi, folks! My name’s Rufus, and I love fast cars, romping, toys and people. I’m back at CBHR because, unfortunately, I didn’t like sharing my home with a toddler. I’m enjoying my new foster home and have adapted well to the family’s work schedules.
They say I am a smart and healthy boy, about 6 years old, and I respond well to commands. I’m energetic but can chill out with the best of them. I also walk well on a leash and love a brisk pace unless an interesting smell catches my attention. I’m not sure where this fits in, but in case you’re interested, I was raised with goats!
I prefer to ride shotgun (at 55-plus, when possible), but my fosters are teaching me that cruising is just as much fun from the back seat. I got along well with the other dogs in my previous home, and my foster people have arranged some play dates. So far, I am doing great!
I’m a cuddly guy who also lets you know what I want, when I want it. I’m learning to redirect my urge to use my amazing voice in more polite ways. My favorite things include walks, sunning, a soft bed, chewing my bone and playing. Turn-offs include rain and cats – I am sorry, but I chase them and can be aggressive, so a no-felines home would be best. I also howl or bark when crated, but I’m working on that.
