About Me

Fly high, sweet Ruby.

I am sooo glad you are looking at me today!  Here’s the latest scoop…I am fully recovered from some recent eye surgery to repair my eye lids and I am finally able to see well. The really cool thing is my eyelashes are long and beautiful again! As a result, my previous eye problems are resolved, and my quality of life is just as it should be.  I can enjoy my walks on a leash, get around the house, and generally be a basset of leisure. All the things people have said about me are still true…  I am a great girl, reliably house broken, very friendly, AND very loving.   I love my chewy bones, my special blanket, and just about anybody who comes around.  It might sound a bit presumptuous, but I am one fantastic basset.

Now, let’s cut to the chase.  I have been with CBHR for one year this month, and as much as I love my foster home, I am MORE than ready to be in a forever home.  As great and sweet as I am it comes as a bit of surprise that I am not.  Here are my thoughts after my year and some of the things I love best:

  • Taking the granddaughter for a walk, even when she drops the leash and forgets what what we were doing
  • Singing Christmas carols or any other reason to sing
  • Sleeping
  • Belly Rubs
  • Keeping an eye on my humans when they are out playing in the grass
  • Other hounds.  I love them all.

Seriously, the love and patience of my foster family, combined with my indomitable spirit, has resulted in my tremendous recovery.  My foster mom says I am much younger acting than my age might indicate and whoever adopts me is in store for a great life with me. I am now ready to be somebody’s forever girl and constant companion.  Keeping up with me can be our own story together!

If you are the perfect forever human for me please let CBHR know and we’ll make it happen.
