Friends, Romans, potential adoptive families… lend me yours ears. Well actually, I have a pretty good set of ears being a bassetus cuteimus but I hope I got your attention ☺ As you can see my name is Octavius but I prefer “Gus”. I am a gorgeous male basset and will be 2 years old on May 28, 2019. I have been very well cared for and loved since I was 8 weeks old by my original family. Unfortunately, due to some recent circumstances they can’t keep me and were very sad to let me go. The nuntiae bonae (“good news”) is the CBHR folks eagerly took me in and are helping me find a new forever home.

I love people, cats, other dogs, and my toys. Did I mention I am crate trained and housebroken? Since I am a young guy I am energetic, but also have good manners. I walk well on a leash and respond to verbal commands. My CBHR foster manager described me as “perfect in every way.” I know she has seen a lot of bassets, so who am I to argue? So, if you want to be part of my forever story, I am anxious to become part of yours. I can’t resist one more Latin phrase…. If you adopt me, you will know what I mean by “Veni, Vidi, Vici your heart! “
