About Me

*Lady has been adopted!*

Well, hello there! My name is Lady, and my name really suits me. I’m a Southern girl about 8 years old and I am very mannerly around the house.

I came to CBHR after my longtime family gave me up, and I had a very large, bleeding mass on my neck. Thanks to CBHR and donors who contribute toward the medical costs of us bassets, that nasty thing has been removed, and I am happy to report that it was benign!

I’m healing right now, but I will make a wonderful pet for the right family. I love to sit in the people’s laps, and my fosters say I am a real sweetheart. I am a great houseguest and am getting along with the other dog in my foster home. In fact, they plan to adopt me!

But as long as you’re here, take a look at the other bassets who are available or on hold. We’ve been inundated with new houndies for various reasons, and each of us wants to find our furever family. Some are older or have special medical needs, but believe me, as a senior girl I can tell you we seniors have lots of love to give.

And even if you don’t find one who fits your needs, maybe you could contribute a little to our medical care. CBHR, an all-volunteer organization, spends thousands of dollars every year to make sure each of us bassets are healthy and can live our best lives. Thanks to all the nice people who donate toward our care, I no longer have that uncomfortable growth on my neck and can get right back to being a hound dog!

This is Lady, and I hope you have a pleasant day!
