About Me

*Ginger has been adopted!*

Greetings! My name is Ginger, and you can see by my gorgeous red ears and head how I got my name. I’m a very nice, 7-year-old girl, but sadly, I was not treated very well in my past. I long for attention and companionship, but I am very fearful when someone approaches me.

My patient foster parents have been working with me to make me feel more at home and to trust them. They believe I have the potential to recover from whatever made me so scared, with time and love, and they know I am a good dog.

I tend to collapse to the floor and roll on my back when approached, and I have to be carried outside or to the car (and I get carsick and need to take my meds beforehand). I am not aggressive, and I am getting very close to being 100% potty trained. I just have to be encouraged to go outside, and I don’t like walking on a leash. I’m good about getting into my crate when it’s time and don’t complain about it at all.

I get along well with other dogs, and I pretty much ignore cats. My best match would be a calm household with no children and minimal noise and disruption. I’ll need a patient family who can work with me to continue to bring me out of my shell.

I do love to be with people, and I’m such a sweet girl. Won’t you see if you have room in your heart and home for me? Contact CBHR and tell them that cute little redhead Ginger told you to call!
