If you have been watching this website you have probably seen me and wondered, “What’s a good-looking guy like Freddie doing with the CBHR?”  Well, there’s a story there… want to hear a bit about it?

Certainly, I am a unique dog for CBHR. I was actually born into the rescue, when my pregnant mom (a full- blooded basset) delivered me and my siblings in her foster home. My dad wasn’t committed to the relationship, and all we know is that he was not a basset. He might have just been “nothing but a hound dog”, and my fellow foster, Elvis, might have some insight about that. The result is I am at a bit of disadvantage being a mix in an otherwise basset world. It has been hard to find a forever home, but the CBHR folks are committed to helping me.  I have been boarding in a dog training facility and am soon on my way to a foster home.  It would be even better if I could just find a forever home!

I am naturally a little anxious and nervous, mostly around new people.  I need a very steady environment with some structure, patience, and love. I would be better off in a home without small children because I can be a little rambunctious. I might also be better as an only dog. Otherwise, I am a really good boy. I love to play outside, chase a ball, and would enjoy being in an active home.  I am no couch potato!

Even though I don’t fit the mold of a typical basset I have my own unique attributes! So, if you are looking for a fun loving, kinda’ basset, who will be ever-loving and grateful for a permanent home…  I am your guy!  Check out my photos and video, then give the CBHR a call.  You won’t be sorry you did!
