About Me
There is a good chance you are familiar Cletus Spuckler aka “Cletus the Slack-jawed Yokel” from the Simpsons. Well, some well-intended person decided to name me Cletus, but I can assure you I bear no resemblance to him. Take a look at my pictures and you surely will agree I might be characterized as “Cletus the Strong-jawed Basset!”
Besides my obvious good looks let me tell you a few other great things about myself. I am a big, strapping boy and have some of those European basset physical attributes. I also have the typical basset behaviors. I generally like pampering…belly rubs, love to lie on my back, and being cuddled (my personal favorite). I love to take a ride and go for walks, but sometimes need a little “encouragement” to go outside. I listen when asked to come, and a treat helps get my attention. We are working on some other things like “sit”. The good news is I am fully house trained! I do well with people, cats, and other dogs. The occasional exception is I am not too fond of bigger, more assertive dogs. My foster mom says I have a bit of a “Napoleon complex” about them 🙂
The CBHR recently took me in as a stray. Living on the streets left me with some minor medical things that are quickly resolving. I will need a little more time to get rid of some heartworms but am otherwise healthy. My personality is blossoming and I am quickly showing what a great guy I am destined to be. All I need is a loving and stable forever home.
