About Me

*Archie has been adopted!*

Hey, basset hound lovers! I’m Archie, and I am one spunky pup. I’m about 11 months old and have loads of energy. I love doing zoomies in the backyard and trying to get other dogs to play chase – I’m really fast, so good luck trying to catch me!

I absolutely love to play, and rolling in the dirt is particularly fun for me right now. I’m adjusting to life indoors and am now able to be left alone without getting into trouble. I also am housebroken. I have lots of puppy behaviors, but I am a smart guy and understand verbal commands and corrections.

I’ve adjusted well to the leash, and boy, do I love my walkies! Sometimes I do growlies at other dogs, but Foster Mom is really good about correcting me, so I’m doing better on that.

Not a fan of the vet. I was terrified when I had my visit to insert my microchip and nipped the vet tech. That was very uncharacteristic, as I don’t show aggression in any other setting – even when food is involved. I snarf my food really fast, so my foster family got me a slow feeder. But I don’t try to steal the other dogs’ food.

Even though I’m well-behaved in the house, I really hate being alone. I lie by the door until my foster people return. It’s not so bad with other dogs around though. Foster Mom thinks I might do best in a home with another playful pup.

Did I mention I’m smart? I also love to learn, especially when treats are involved! If you think you might like a handsome, playful hound like me, contact CBHR and tell them Archie sent you!
