Events Staff


The best way for us to showcase our dogs and the organization is to participate in local events. Not only is it great to get our dogs out there, but hanging out with your volunteer friends is fun too!

Our dogs are featured at a variety of events throughout both states. We participate in small events like meet and greet get-togethers at local pets stores and large events like the two-day Azalea Festival in Wilmington, NC. The only way CBHR can continue to staff these events is by having volunteers to help. Events usually last approximately two to four hours, but are often broken into shifts. These are a great way to meet people and get our bassets out there. You can join our event mailing list and you will be emailed directly when there is an event that needs to be staffed; there is no need to join our big mailing list. If you can help great, if not, just hit delete!

CBHR Sponsored Events

Along with participating in local, outside events Carolina Basset Hound Rescue hosts many events throughout the year in both states. We always need volunteers to help us staff and host these events. If you are interested in hosting or helping to setup with one the events listed below please contact us.

  • The Waddle — CBHR’s biggest annual event.  We need lots of help to make this granddaddy of an event a success!  Please contact us if you would like to help.
  • Regional Yard Sales — a great way to clean out your closets and help the bassets at the same time!  Do you live in a busy neighborhood and would you be willing to host?
  • Regional Dog Washes — Local dog washes are lucrative and a fun way to earn some much needed cash for the bassets.  Only a couple of hours of volunteer time are require.
  • Do you have an idea for an event?  We would love to hear!  Just drop us a note!
