HOWL Memorial Service
10:00 am

On the beach outside The Tides Hotel
1 Center Street, Folly Beach, SC 29439 + Google Map

The annual memorial service to remember hounds who have gone to the bridge during the past year. All are welcome.

People who have lost a dog often feel isolated and alone since society does not offer much support to those grieving an animal’s death. We have a group to help remember CBHR dogs as well as volunteers who have died. Appropriately named H.O.W.L, Helping Others With Loss, we offer solace to grieving CBHR family members. We offer a listening and sympathetic ear, hold a memorial service each year at the beach, and provide references for grief counselors and support groups. We understand your loss. Please contact H.O.W.L. at rescue@cbhr.com.

Charleston Holiday Parade
12:30 pm – Meet to decorate “pooped pup” truck
3:00 pm – Parade begins

Parking: SC Aquarium Garage, 24 Calhoun St, Charleston, SC 29401 + Google Map

For the 22nd year, the CBHR Bassets will be marching in the Charleston SC Christmas parade. This year our volunteers will be wearing their CBHR 25th Anniversary attire, and the hounds will be sporting festive bandanas. This is a fun event and the Bassets are always very popular.

Those who are planning to march should park in the SC Aquarium Garage (24 Calhoun Street) and meet in the open lot across from the aquarium between 12:30 and 1:00 to decorate the “pooped pup” truck. The truck will shuttle everyone to our starting place. The parade will begin at 3:00 on Broad Street at Rutledge Avenue, travel North on King Street, and conclude on Calhoun Street at Meeting Street, near where the cars are parked.
