CBHR foster family, the Chaffins, fondly remember and say goodbye to their dear foster dog, Benny. He was loved and will have a loving place in their hearts and home forever.
We received Benny, or Uncle Benny as we called him, at the end of August. He was supposed to be a Basset Hound, but turned out to be a Beagle mix. His first days here were spent adjusting. He was a very good animal from day one. He instantly won us over. As time went by, he really became a part of the family. When the vet told us he had heart worms, our hearts sank thinking he wouldn’t have a chance given his age. When we found out that CBHR treated all rescues, we were so happy. After his first treatment, we thought he had a really good chance at a lot more life. He was spunky. He really fit right in. We miss him very much. I never felt anyone would ever adopt him but he would always have a home here.
Note: we received his ashes today. They are in a very beautiful wooden urn. Along with the urn is a small stone styled urn and a card with his paw print. He will always be a member of our family.
