Basset Angel

Bonjour! Comment allez-vous? Je m’appelle Bisou! Bisou means "a friendly kiss" and I've got a ton of them! Are you looking for a low rider with a little international beagle flair? One with a certain je ne sais quoi? Then look no further - I am adorable! I have mastered the leash walk, dogs come from all around to see how it's done - owners take notes, bassets scratch their heads in amazement. And I'm a marathoner when it comes to walking. And while we're out I love to visit with all of the people and dogs we meet. I run, I play, I maintain a joie de vivre for each new day! I'm a lover of all things... people, dogs, children - the more the merrier. I may be a little on the mischievous side, but only in an effort to keep you on your toes. I will soon be saying "au revoir" to these nasty heartworms, but we can arrange for travel in October - I'm ready to go - my biscuits and berets are packed! 09/11/12
**My Angel is Laura Arprin whose donation is in honor of her basset loving friend Meredith. Meredith just lost her Basset, Baci (Italian for "kiss"), which inspired me to make this (small) gesture of support for another kiss-inspired dog.**

Basset Angel

The name is Brady & I’m looking for a new Bunch….Mike, Carol, Greg, Peter, Bobby, Marsha, Jan & Cindy done left me high and dry (names have been changed) – but you get the picture! At the age of 9, I’m proud to be a card-carrying member of the AARH – ‘American Association of Retired Hounds.’ Though I am a little older, I am also a lot wiser. My foster family reports that I keep my own pace (my 'get up and go' may have gotten a little slow) but that I am a joy to be around. I am very much a gentle giant - I like people & other dogs and would love to have a furever home of my very own by Christmas! Fill out an online application and tell them you are interested in the most handsome black and tan basset you have ever seen... me... Brady! 11/30/12

Are you in the market for a gorgeous basset lady of a certain age? Would you like a loving hound with long, soft ears to share a couch or bed with? Well look no farther. My nickname is "Momma," because I was used to produce many puppies for my owner. Because I was penned up for so long, new situations make me kind of nervous. But once I get into a routine, I’m fine and dandy. Right now I’m going through a phase where I’m kind of shy around men – don’t know why. But foster mom and dad and I are working on it. Thunder, fireworks, and gun shots are three of my most un-favorite things – I’ll just sit out the Fourth of July fireworks at home while you celebrate. I’m very much a lady – I don’t gulp my food down like those young ‘uns – I take my time! Now just because I'm nine years young, don't get any ideas that I can't join in the fun or go on an adventure or two with you. Don't believe me? Well take a look at this video my foster mom took of me and my basset sisters. As you can see, there's plenty of life left in this gal, and I'd love to share that life with you! Ahh, I knew you would read dis bio… I’m Miss Cleo – part hound dog and part shaman. Perhaps you recall my infomercials of the late 90’s? You don’t? I knew you would say that. Oh… but wait, I see a shift in me aura on de horizon now that the good folks at CBHR have intervened… Ah yes, I see cozy living rooms… I see sofas… oh and dat is me favorite movie on de TV I see… wait, dere’s a food bowl – and… oh yes, lots and lots of food in de food bowl…oh and I see multiple hands giving belly rubs – ah yes, de future is very bright. Miss Cleo knows all! Wait, is that you? ‘Tis a little fuzzy but I can almost make you out… Call de folks at CBHR, Miss Cleo waive the $3.99 per minute fee dis one time just for you! 11/26/12

Basset Angel

He is a goodly dog. Like Clark Kent, he is mild-mannered and calm. He abhors crates, but fortunately he is completely housebroken and let's you know when he needs to go out. He has a few toys but doesn't play with them. He is not a chewer either, at least not with raw hide. He is warming up to me and enjoys hugs and kisses, and playing peek-a-boo with his ears. Loves to visit neighbors and enjoys walking with other dog walkers a lot. He especially likes walking with the female Papilion that lives down the block! He is very respectful of the two cats. Right now he is a slow walker and walks very slow up the stairs. My thoughts are that as he begins to recover from heartworm, his energy level is going to increase. Already I see signs that he is feeling better because he seems happier. Each day Copper is showing himself to be more and more affectionate and appreciative of the attention he is receiving. He especially enjoys being sung to. I make up ballads and he just cuddles by my side enjoying every moment. I think he would do well with a single or a small family that would appreciate a well-behaved dog who needs a lot of luv. It wouldn't be good for him to be in an exciteable home with a lot of children, because he is such a laid-back calm dog. He draws a lot of oooohs and ahhhs when we walk in public places, and everybody wants to pet him. 04/05/13
